Come with me to Sky Tree Station
ride the talking escalators
she elevates the scene
a million lights flickering on
a million lights from dusk to dawn
through the crowded market
in splendid isolation
she’s floating down the hall
millions of people they rush
a million people from dawn to dusk
walk the beautiful cities
travel the free nations
hear the weather of language
read the maps of people’s faces
move in and out of dreamland
move in and out of dreamland
to Sky Tree Station
Sky Tree Station
in my sunny corner
Shinagawa food court
the jelly fish drift by
i love you more than anything
i love you more than anyone
take a trip to Sky Tree Station
black sesame ice cream
citizen of the world
a come from a place far away
but we are together here today
walk the beautiful cities
travel the free nations
hear the weather of language
read the maps of people’s faces
move in and out of dreamland
move in and out of dreamland
to Sky Tree Station
Sky Tree Station
put your hand in my hand in my hand in my hand hand hand

Cigarettes and apathy
Neither truly defined me
I may have been slightly disengaged
But I was only really numbing my rage
I was defined by a slim set of hips
Only outdone by enormous lips
But I remain with my strength intact
What good is youth when you don’t get it back
Memories I’d sell by the pack as
They may have seemed so great to you
But they were only days I lived through
I never sat and watched the tears go by
I tried to end things but I never died
I took myself so close to the edge
I knew to balance, not to fall off the ledge
Cos what good is youth when you don’t get it back
I don’t spend time regretting much, or get too attached
They may have seemed great to you
But it was only days I lived through
I’ll tell you stories and I’ll sell some as well
And you can revel in my time in hell
You love to watch and I loved to learn
I did it all so you would never burn
And what good is age when you don’t have no tales
These were only things that I went through
They may have seemed so great to you
But it was only days I lived through

There's a moment when the light gets weaker and you feel the strain
trying to breath for every bit of life it's worth
in an instant everything you've done comes back to you
and you recognize yourself for what you're worth
there is nothing anyone can do to comfort you
but there's nothing you can do so that's alright.
Everyday there's a chance that it will come again
Everyday is like the one you just got past
all the pressure whether self inflicted or otherwise
leads you down to what may be your final path
in the absence of a way to die they turn to you
tell them that its like a battery in your head
slowly draining all the power so the music slows
fade to black and just pretend you won the fight.

This Ragged Acre

on this ragged acre
i lay my burdens down
though asphalt cracks
in the parking lot
roses reach up to the sun
roses reach up to the sun
can you feel the breadth of time?
life finds a way
can you feel the breadth of time?
life finds a way
from this ragged acre
I set out as a youth
to go rambling round the nation
sure some boundless truth
waited for me in the sun
waited for me in the sun
I knew nothing of the world
out in the wind
I knew nothing of the world
out in the wind
on this ragged acre
they caught us out in the light
we who scatter for the shadows
our hidden world exposed
eyes squinting in the sun
eyes squinting in the sun
will we recognize our home
after all these years
will we recognize our home
after all these years

Sadabouts Portland, Oregon
Sadabouts are a collaboration between Joe Adragna (New Orleans LA) and Casey Neill (Portland, OR) AKA Joey Sadabout and Johnny Sadabout.
